no green in sight

It’s been well over 100 degrees in North Central Texas for weeks and weeks, and there’s no end in sight, My garden is basically nonexistent, despite hand-watering every day. It’s just too hot. I’ve also had a few close encounters with critters:

Yeah, I don’t like spiders. At all.

I like snakes even less than I like spiders, and I was completely unprepared to find a venomous copperhead curled up in one of my strawberry planters in mid-July. No, thank you.
