I started this blog over a decade ago, when I was an environmental biology major. After a health crisis, I had to switch majors and my life focus changed, so I no longer updated this blog. Lately, I’ve felt a nudging to start updating it again. This world seems very dark and hopeless sometimes, between natural disasters, cultural unrest, and people just being plain hateful to each other. It doesn’t have to be that way. Little things can make a difference–even the little things that seem so tiny it’s hard to catch a glimpse of them from the corner of your eye. Little things can make your corner of the world a little bit greener even in the midst of such turbulence and darkness. As Gandalf says, after Frodo laments the dark times the Fellowship is in, wishing that none of it had ever happened,
